Kelluu strengthens its Board – Defence expert Tero Vauraste and technology leader Jari Peltoniemi join to accelerate global expansion

Finnish technology company Kelluu has appointed Tero Vauraste as Chair of the Board and Jari Peltoniemi as a new Board Member. The appointments mark a new phase in Kelluu’s global growth strategy as the company expands its persistent aerial data and monitoring operations worldwide.
Tero Vauraste brings extensive experience from defence, security, and Arctic operations. He has served as CEO of Arctia, advised ICEYE and Kuva Space, and currently serves in the Arctic and Space Working Group of the National Defence Scientific Advisory Board under Finland’s Ministry of Defence. He also serves as President of the EIC Scaling Club New Space Group and as Strategic Advisor for Tech Tour.
According to Janne Hietala, CEO of Kelluu, Vauraste’s appointment strengthens the company’s ability to serve both commercial and governmental clients.
“Tero strengthens the Board with his solid expertise in defence and data technology. His international networks support Kelluu’s growth as we expand our operations globally”, says Janne Hietala, CEO of Kelluu.
Vauraste emphasizes the growing global demand for accurate aerial data.
“Kelluu provides continuous data from below the clouds. This kind of layer of awareness has been missing. By combining autonomous data collection with artificial intelligence, we generate insights that make environments safer and infrastructure operate more efficiently.” he says.
Joining the Board alongside Vauraste, Jari Peltoniemi brings over 30 years of leadership experience from Nokia, where he most recently served as Vice President of Nokia Digital Automation Cloud Networks. He is also a Board Member of Finnish Impact Investment Ltd and an active angel investor through FiBAN, focusing on automation, AI, and deep technology.
“Kelluu operates at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and security. I see massive potential to build a sovereign global data infrastructure from Finland, one that enhances safety, efficiency, and resilience,” Peltoniemi says.
Current Board Members Oskari Lehtonen and Jouni Lintu will continue in their roles, bringing continuity and long-term strategic experience to the company’s governance.
