Persistent aerial monitoring over Helsinki

Finnish technology company Kelluu has carried out aerial data collection in cooperation with the City of Helsinki’s Urban Environment Division and the city’s innovation company Forum Virium Helsinki.

Kelluu’s autonomous airships operated over an area of about 100 hectares in Ruskeasuo. The flights provided new material for developing Helsinki’s city model.

The collected 3D geospatial data is being tested in a wide range of city processes. It can be used, for example, in visual assessment of planned construction projects, in managing the city’s street assets, and in monitoring the condition of trees.
